Employment Discrimination Source Materials - this is the portion of the Cornell Legal Information Institute site which covers employment discrimination law.

Civil Rights Summary - this is the portion of the Cornell Legal Information Institute site which covers civil rights in general a (whether or not related to employment).

Employment Law Source Materials - this is the portion of the Cornell Legal Information Institute site for employment law materials (e.g., the fair labor standards act and unemployment compensation) not encompassed by anti-discrimination or collective bargaining laws.

Collective Bargaining Law and Arbitration Source Materials - this is the portion of the Cornell Legal Information Institute site which concerns collective bargaining, which is governed by federal and state statutory law, administrative agency regulations, and judicial decisions. 

Workplace Safety Source Materials - this is the portion of the Cornell Legal Information Institute site which concerns workplace safety and health laws.  The main federal statute protecting the health and safety of workers in the workplace is the Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA).

Family & Medical Leave Act - this site provides information about the federal Family & Medical Leave Act, including the text of the law as passed by Congress and the regulations enacted by the Department of Labor (DOL) to enforce the law.

U.S Code, Title 29 - the federal laws concerning employment are codified in Title 29 of the U.S. Code. 

29 CFR Part 1614 - Federal Sector Equal Employment Opportunity - this is the text of Part 1614, Title 29 of the CFR.

Code of Federal Regulations pertaining to the U.S. Department of Labor (CFR Titles 20, 29, 30, 41, 48) - this site provides access to the regulations which are enforced by the U.S.  Department of Labor (DOL).

U.S. Equal Opportunity Employment Commission (EEOC) - the EEOC enforces the federal civil rights laws through both administrative and judicial actions.

U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) - the U.S. Department of Labor is responsible for the enforcing over 180 federal statutes affecting employment and workplace safety.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - OSHA is the agency within the Department of Labor which is responsible for enforcing federal health and safety laws.

National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) - the NLRB is responsible for enforcing the National Labor Relations Act. The NLRB conducts secret-ballot elections to determine whether employees want union representation and investigates and brings actions to remedy unfair labor practices by employers and unions.

Employment Benefits - this site provides information about employee benefits and includes links to the laws which govern benefit plans.

Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) - this is the portion of the Cornell Legal Information Institute site which concerns the Uniform Commercial Code.  The site includes links to each State's version of the Uniform laws

Business and Finance - this is the portion of the Cornell Legal Information Institute site which concerns a wide variety of uniform laws which affect business or finance.  Like the UCC site, it includes links to each State's version of the Uniform laws.

Intellectual Property and Unfair Competition Law

Copyright Laws Source Material - this is the portion of the Cornell Legal Information Institute site which concerns Copyright Laws. The site includes links to the Universal Copyright Convention and other international materials.

U.S. Copyright Office - the U.S. Copyright Office registers copyrights for original works.  Check this site if you are interested in obtaining the protection of the federal copyright law.

Trademark Law Source Material - Cornell Legal Information Institute site which concerns Trademark law.  The site includes links to the Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act and Model Trademark bill, as well as links to State statutes.

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office - in addition to providing access to information about trademarks and patents, this site allows you to fill out and file an on-line application for registration of a trademark.

Unfair Competition Law Source Material - Cornell Legal Information Institute site which concerns unfair competition.  The site includes links to the Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act and State statutes.

Right to Publicity/Right of Privacy Law Source Material - Cornell Legal Information Institute site which concerns the rights to publicity and privacy.   The site includes links to the an on-line guide of privacy resources.

Securities Law

Securities Lawyer's Deskbook - the Securities Lawyer's Deskbook, published by the The Center for Corporate Law, University of Cincinnati College of Law, contains the full text of the basic federal securities laws and regulations, as well as the principal Securities and Exchange Commission forms under those laws and regulations.

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) - the SEC is an independent, nonpartisan, quasijudicial regulatory agency with responsibility for administering the federal securities laws.

Real Estate Law

Real Property - this is portion of the FindLaw site which concerns real estate law.

California Planning - this site concerns California planning laws.  It includes links to the municipal codes and zoning laws in most California cities.

California State Law

California Law - this link brings you to the FindLaw site on California law.

Official California Legislative Information - this is the the official site for California legislative information as maintained by the Legislative Counsel of California.  You can use this site to keep track of pending legislation which affects your business.

Law.com California - this link brings you to the Law.com site for California.  This site provides information on recent developments in California law and in the legal community.
